Liz was ever staunch in her loyalty to family, friends and faith. She remained undaunted and resilient in testing times. She retained a confidence and graciousness in public speaking. Hers was a beautiful, cultured voice in the recitation of prayers and sacred writings. She always maintained a balance of justice and wisdom in guiding vital consultations. Her attention to detail in organising events, her forthrightness and energy in espousing just causes, and her deep love, compassion and encouragement in pursuing voluntary work were ever-present hallmarks.
And so we might ask that her soul inspire us to do better as we remember the role model we found in her. In her own words ‘We cannot be sure when the seeds we have sown will mature and bear fruit, but I like to think that the many seeds I have scattered both on home ground and in the many different countries visited on travels with my husband Ken, have helped to nurture universal fellowship.’
